Live betting at Bet365

With my interest drawn to this big sports betting brand, I decided to do a comprehensive review of the Bet365 live betting markets. Thanks to the numerous reviews I have done across the various betting sites, both big and small, I have had enough experience to authoritatively give expert analysis of the Bet365 live betting section. For starters, I realized that Bet365 sportsbook gives a vast scope of live betting markets in terms of sporting categories. The live betting markets offered here tend to cut across the most popular sports such as:

  • football
  • tennis
  • basketball
  • bowls
  • ice hockey
  • cricket
  • volleyball
  • horses and greyhounds racing

Another impressive bit I noticed with the Bet365 live betting section is the availability of the cash out option. While playing here, I could easily opt out of a bet and redeem a portion of my stake if I felt things were not going my way.

To know where Bet365 ranks among other sites, I have listed down the pros and cons attributable to playing here. While the advantages tend to be quite prominent, it does not mean that the Bet365 live betting section is without fault.

  • Pros:
  • A vast variety of betting markets
  • Availability of the cash out option
  • Suitable for wagering the Bet365 bonuses
  • Impressive odds for the live events
  • Easy-to-use interface
  • The live streaming option is available
  • Forms and stats centre that gives you tips on how to win a bet
  • Cons:
  • Not available in all countries such as Australia
  • Some in-play bets on sports do not have the cash out option

From the moment I opened the Bet365 website using the URL www.bet365.com, I was impressed by the layout and general user interface. The lush green and yellow colours from the Bet365 logo predominantly used against a dark grey background. Although this theme might seem a bit dull to some players, I liked it since it was easy on the eye. I could easily find my way around the various menu sections, thanks to the main menu bar horizontally placed at the very top of the page. This menu bar remains permanently fixed meaning I could easily access it and switch to any gaming section.

To land to the live betting page, I clicked on the ‘In-Play’ tab. That leads me to a new page displaying a list of various live events. Here, I was impressed by the layout of the live events since there are three distinct modes in which you can view the live betting markets.

  1. The first is the ‘Overview’ mode, which gives you a list of all the live matches and races available for betting.
  2. Then there is the ‘Event View’ mode, which offers a more detailed presentation of every event. From this mode, you will get the option to stream live the event or watch animated graphics of the live action.
  3. The third mode is the ‘Schedule’ view. That gives you a line-up of the events scheduled to kick off shortly.

Since the live events running concurrently can be many at times, there is an option to filter the events based on popularity or making a favourites list. Being an avid football fan, I compiled my list of favourites from matches from the top European leagues by clicking the star placed alongside the team names in the overview mode. That made it very easy to keep track of my favourite matches, running concurrently.

Another unique feature that I noticed with this site’s design is that I could easily switch the odds format from either decimal to fractional.

Bet365 Live betting sports

Bet365 Live betting sports

Having been impressed by the aesthetic bit of the Bet365 live betting page, I decided to try my hand at placing a few bets in the various markets available. As I mentioned earlier, games here listed in tabs. You will, therefore, get a tab to switch from, say, soccer to tennis, baseball, cricket and the many other sports available. Owing to the numerous options, I was spoilt for choice on which to start. Also, each of these sports comes with its unique lineup of betting markets, which I noticed will change from time to time as the live matches progress.

To paint a clear picture of what to expect here, I have summarized a review of the seven most prominent sports here below:

Soccer

The first stop on here obviously had to be the soccer section. If you are in overview mode, you will get a comprehensive list of all the matches here which range from the major European leagues to the least known tournaments across continents. I, however, noticed that the live streaming option was made available for the top and most famous of these football matches, such as those from major European leagues. Also, for you to access the live streams, you will need to login to your account.

Nonetheless, even for the matches without live streaming options, the betting markets were well distributed. I was able to place live bets on the following markets:

  • Full-time results
  • Double chance
  • Half time result
  • 1st goal
  • Last Team to Score
  • Total match goals
  • O/U Match Goals
  • Corners
  • Game won in extra time
  • Asian Handicap
  • Half Time/Full Time
  • Asian Corners
  • 3-Way Handicap
  • Draw No Bet
  • Both Teams to Score
  • Exact Goals
  • Team to score in both halves
  • To win the 2nd half

What I did realize with these markets, as it is the case with many other live betting platforms, the odds, as well as the betting markets themselves, will keep on changing as the match progresses. As such, it is not uncommon to find one match with markets that are lacking in the other.

Try Bet365 In-Play

Tennis

The layout here is akin to that of the soccer section. On the left-hand panel, I could easily filter through the many tennis matches being played or about to kick off. To the right of each of these matches is an arrow that I used to reveal more on the markets. These markets include:

  • To win
  • Point betting
  • Game to Deuce
  • Next Break of Serve
  • Total Games in Set 2
  • Total Games in Match
  • Match Handicap
  • Set Betting
  • Go the distance

Any tennis betting markets you have ever come across will be available. But as it is the case with the football markets, the availability of the markets here also tends to depend on the progress of a specific match.

Badminton

Though not a big fan of badminton, I decided to review the section as well for this review to be comprehensive enough. The in-play betting markets here are equally well structured, with options similar to those of the pre-match markets. Here, I was able to bet on the match winner, handicap, point betting, and odd/even. Just as with the other categories, I could easily add up two or even more selections from different matches to build an accumulator bet.

Baseball

That is another sporting category that is quite popular with betting sites and betting exchange markets. One thing I noticed here, however, is that there are fewer streaming options. Instead, the action presented in animations, which I found to be good enough if you are interested in following the live action.

Horse Racing

If you are any serious about sports betting, then you know how lucrative horse racing can be. That is one of the oldest sports to have a formal and structured betting. With Bet365, I could find a selection of several horse races to bet. Most the races here were mainly in the UK and Irish markets, though from time to time they feature a few races from other parts of the world. The betting options in the race coupons include:

  • Tote Win
  • Tote Place
  • Fixed Win
  • Fixed Place

I was able to make multiple selections and add them to my bet slip, though this was not always available for all races.

Greyhounds

When I checked out the greyhounds in-play betting tab, I found the layout to be quite similar to the horse races. The betting markets I found here are:

  • Tote Win
  • Tote Place
  • Fixed Win
  • Fixed Place

Bet365 Live betting – Bet slip

I found the bet slip at the Bet365 in-play betting section to be quite easy to handle and manipulate. If you have previously made pre-match bets here, then you will realize the bet slip layout is the same. Whichever page or sport I selected, the bet slip was always visible on the far right side.

To place bets, I opened the live event, match, or race that I wanted to bet. The odds for each outcome highlighted in yellow. By clicking these odds, this was added to my bet slip as my bet selection. If I was making a single bet, then I could scroll to the right side on my bet slip, indicate the amount I wish to stake then confirm the bet. If placing an accumulator bet, then I could click on as many yellow odds buttons as I was interested. Having made the selections, I can go back to the bet slip, indicate my stake then confirm the bet.

One exciting feature worth mentioning here is that I could switch from a ‘Standard’ bet slip to a ‘Banker’ bet slip. The difference here is that with a Banker bet slip, and you will be banking on one selection as a ‘sure bet.’ Once I selected this ‘sure bet’ I had to win it for the payout from the entire accumulator bet to be won. That is riskier, but the returns are worth it.

Other Unique Options

Being a reputable brand, I chose Bet365 expecting to find something extra different than regular sports betting. True to my expectations, I was impressed to see several extra features that make the overall betting experience more productive. The most prominent of these are the live streaming option and cash out option.

Live streaming

I was glad to find that with Bet365, I could access live streams for dozens of games across all the sports available in the in-play section. What’s more, I was able to watch all this live action with video. All I needed to do was ensure I am logged in to my account. Also, I needed to have placed a real bet using this account within the past 24 hours. I found the quality of the video streams to be good and could quickly work with any updated web browser.

To use the Live Streaming service you will need to be logged in and have a funded account or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours.

Cash out feature

That is another feature that I found to be quite handy when making in-play bets at Bet365. With the cash out option, I could quickly back out of a bet mid-play, reducing the risk of losing my entire stake. However, the cash out option will not be available for all matches or races. That is common practice with every bookmaker. From my bet slip, I can tell if the cash out option is available by looking out for the green button. If this button is available, then I can proceed and click it to make the cash out request.

Mobile service

I did a test run of betting through the Bet365 mobile platform. Here I had two options – either use the mobile version of the Bet365 website or use the downloadable apps available for both Android and iOS platforms. I opted for the much faster mobile site version which did not require any downloads. I was impressed with the user interface, which closely resembles the leading desktop site. The betting options in the live betting section are similar to those you would get from a desktop platform. I was particularly impressed to learn that you can stream all the action through the mobile site version, as you would with the desktop site.

But if you would prefer using the downloadable apps, they give the same type of betting services, with a much better and customized user interface.

Deposit & Withdrawal

My review of the Bet365 would be incomplete without checking out the cashier section. If anything, the deposits and withdrawal options dictate how many real money bets I could make. I was impressed to find the cashier section here to be quite accommodative. To get a comprehensive list of the payment options at my disposal, I started by selecting my country of residence. That also determined the type of currency I could use, which includes any primary currency. The payment methods include any major e-wallets, cheques, and even direct bank transfers.

The minimum and maximum amount limit depend on the mode of payment I select, as well as the transaction timelines. What I noticed is that card payment, and e-wallets tend to be much faster than bank transfers and cheques. By scrolling to the cashier’s help section, I found a comprehensive guide on various payment methods, as well as their respective minimum and maximum limits, which made it much easier for me to choose.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bet365 have a results page of previous outcomes?

Yes, I could quickly check out the results from the previous game to develop a better betting strategy with my next bets.

Can I cancel my bet once confirmed?

I realized with this live betting option; I could not cancel or modify a bet once I had confirmed. That meant I needed to double check my selections before confirming the bet. With live betting, there is a need to be quick with this since the odds will keep on changing.

Can I place in play bets on esports?

While doing this review, I could not find any options for betting on esports here.

What rules should I follow when making cash out on a live bet?

The rules on cash outs are quite simple as the system automatically computes the amount to be paid out. For a detailed explanation of how this works, I made use of the help section.

Are the odds in the in play live markets the same as those in the pre-match markets?

Not really, with live betting, the odds tend to change as the game progresses. That is for the markets to reflect the probability changes as the game carries on.

Can I make live bets on golf?

Yes, I found the live betting options include many more games than the one I listed above, including golf and handball. However, such games may not always appear in the list, since they tend to occur in a lower frequency compared to significant sports such as football.

Will I get a FAQs page that can guide me on the auto-cash out feature?

Yes, since this a relatively new concept, I refer to the Bet365 FAQs page which gave me a detailed guide on how to cash out my bets and also set auto cash out which is triggered when the amount reaches a specific value.

About Bet365

If you have any interests in sports, you must have come across the conspicuous Bet365 yellow and green brand logo. That is because the company has been quite aggressive in their marketing, including cutting deals with leading sporting clubs. I first got to learn about Bet365 from seeing their logo brandished on Stoke City FC shirts, a top English football club. Being an avid football fan, I did my research further and got to learn that the two institutions have a long-standing relationship that goes way also into the boardrooms.

But building such a reputable and easily recognizable brand does not come easy. From the information in the public domain, Bet365 has been around for years, growing from a small betting firm in England into a company with global operations spanning several countries. One thing I always look out for whenever I am doing a review for an online sportsbook is the licensing information. That gives you some degree of confidence in the legality of a company’s operation. With Bet365, they don’t seem too shy to give out this information as one can tell that they are licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority.

Customer care & Contacts

One of the most impressive aspects about playing at Bet365 is you are guaranteed to have customer support services at any time. I tried reaching out for assistance through the live chat portal, and the response given was not only timely but also very comprehensive and professional. Besides, to live chats, I also found out you can get help through email, postal mail by calling the direct customer support phone line. There is also a phone number dedicated to tele-betting services only.

Rating & Conclusion

My overall experience playing at Bet365 was nothing impressive. Ranging from the beautiful green and yellow theme to the setup of the site’s main page, I found the Bet365 page to be elementary to use even for new players. My main interest was with the in-play section whose content was equally good. I liked how I can get to enjoy live streams of games, by simply login into my account. Lastly, the auto cash out feature is one that I used to hedge from loses, without having to keep on checking my bet slip.
